Adam Kout returns to the circuits with Hyundai Janík Motorsport team
Czech racer and karting specialist Adam Kout will dust off his racing gear after a three-year break and he will get behind the wheel of a Hyundai Elantra N TCR in three TCR Eastern Europe rounds for the Hyundai Janík Motorsport team.
Adam Kout will race with Hyundai at the season opener at Oschersleben in Germany. “TCR Eastern Europe is a very interesting championship on beautiful circuits and I think the competition will be really strong this year. I’m expecting a very close battle with my rivals and I’d like to achieve the best results possible,” said Kout, who won the title in Swiss Formula Renault series in 2007 and spent the next three seasons in the European Formula Renault series with Krenek Motorsport team.
“I was offered the opportunity to race within the ESET RaceStar project by Mr Křenek, for whose team I have raced in the past,” explains Kout. “Since I am in charge of the Hyundai brand in our family dealership business, I am very happy to have the opportunity to race with a Hyundai car. I am looking forward to working with the Hyundai Janík Motorsport team, which has a lot of experience in the TCR and I believe it will be a successful collaboration.”
Kout, the native from Brandýs nad Labem, has spent his last ten racing seasons in Superkart, where he achieved two European Championship titles and three European Vice-Championship titles. The touring car will therefore be a big challenge for him, although not a new one. He competed in MCŘ in Division 4 from 2004 to 2007.
“Every car has its specifics and I like challenges. But I think I have always adapted to new technology quickly, so I believe I can do it this time too. I’m looking forward to everything: the new team, the race car and the opponents. And after three-year break, I am very motivated to succeed.”
He last competed in Superkart in 2019, in a race car in 2018. Kout is therefore very much looking forward to returning to the circuits and is certainly not ruling out future in TCR Eastern Europe. “Of course, I can imagine continuing in the championship after 2023 – if we can get a partner to support us. I don’t plan to make any more starts in Superkart, I’ve spent a successful 10 years in this category and it’s time to move on,” adds Adam Kout.
